Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Book Couples

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

Instead of a top ten this week, I have a top two favourite couples and two romances that I wish happened.

Heartstone Series by Nicholas Rinth: Jack and Sylvie

Picture
Acquaintances forced together by dire circumstance equals slow burn goodness. I just love how these characters’ strengths and weaknesses balance each other out, their self-sufficiency, and how they can fight side by side one moment and argue with each other about whether that fight was necessary the next.

Spiderlily Chronicles by Nicole Martinsen: Silhouette and Alyon

Picture
Because by bloody hell she was going to keep that promise to protect him, death be damned. And those meetings where Alyon had no idea that Silhouette was Tera. Okay, it’s just everything. This entire book is my precious and Alyon and Silhouette are PERFECTION.

The Ships that Canon Sank

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo: Nikolai and Alina

Picture
Mal annoys the crap out of me; he’s a bleh pile of idiot with occasional highlights of mundane (although I must add that he has the best character arc over the series). The Darkling is an incredibly old creeper, a very sexy one, but a creeper nonetheless. Nikolai was just a far better choice overall in terms of romantic interests.

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare: Will and Tessa and Jem

Picture
Instead of a love triangle where one point is trying to decide which other point to connect to in order to make a line, let it be an equilateral triangle of three equals in a relationship together.

Tess/Will/Jem! I love them... Quite possibly the only love triangle where I wanted her to be with both guys.

I was absolutely 100% shipping Nikolai and Alina too! I really hoped they'd end up together but sort of knew just from the way these things always play out that they wouldn't. Still. I can dream.

Nikolai and Alina certainly have the most chemistry of all her potential romantic options in the Grisha trilogy.

I've heard a lot of good things about Clockwork Angel in general.

I'm not familiar with the first two books and I haven't read the Grisha Verse books, but I did like the way that The Infernal Devices turned out. It could have turned out very badly though.
