My January reads included some great feminist books, amazing retellings, and unique fantasies. I also finally finished Emma Brown.
I’ve kept up with the blogging schedule I set for myself in December. While my work is paying off in terms of numbers and graphs, I’m still trying to figure out how to make this blog a less lonely place for me.
I’m still waiting for The Gospel of Loki, which I ordered through Book Depository in November last year. It’s become ridiculous and I wonder just how long it’s going to take the South African Post Office to work through the backlog of International Christmas parcels.
One thing I still need to figure out is my writing schedule. I really need something that’s a little more consistent than ‘anytime there’s enough time to be productive’.

While it can be challenging to find time to read all the books I want to between the books I have to review, I’ve decided to set myself a modest goal of reading at least one literary or classic fiction book and something from my backlog on Kindle and Kobo.
How was your January? Did you read any books worth recommending?
