Run Don’t Think is a fast-paced novel that draws the reader in from page one. Although the beginning was a little confusing, I soon oriented myself in the story. Bolick achieves a perfect balance between action and intrigue as Angel and Skip are plunged into danger. I felt for Skip and Angel as they blundered and panicked through their journey to Detroit. Their reactions are realistic and so relatable. Angel can be annoying at times, mostly because of her somewhat whiny insecurity about Skip’s refusal to have sex with her and her reliance on Skip to make many of the decisions. Other than this, I loved the dynamic between these two characters. Mysteries unfold as the plot picks up speed to lead the reader to a sequence of stunning revelations in the denouement. A light and exciting read, Run Don’t Think is a solid start to Bolick’s latest series.
