Taut conflict against overwhelming odds, a convincingly alien race, and thrillingly plausible battles are but a few of the reasons to pick up Rebbit’s exciting Space Opera series about first contact with hostile aliens. The fast-pacing and continuous action make Redoubt a difficult novel to put down and, although this doesn’t leave much space for character development, individual personalities and penchants for innovative problem solving make for memorable characters. While humanity has been scrambling since the start of the Globur conflict, the reader begins to see how the tables may turn in Redoubt as the characters begin learning from past miscalculations and Imperial battle strategies are adapted accordingly. Redoubt is a turning point in the Globur Incursion series, an astounding, must-read series for all fans of Space Opera.
